Signs of hard waterall over the house.

White crust on taps and showerheads
Hard water leaves calcium and magnesium behind as it dries, and it builds up wherever water sits.
Spots on glasses and shower glass
The same minerals dry into a cloudy film that comes back however often you wipe it.
Soap that won’t lather
Hardness minerals react with soap, so it takes more shampoo and detergent to do the same job.
Scale in the kettle and water heater
Minerals settle out when water is heated, coating elements and the bottom of the tank.
Appliances wearing out early
Scale builds up inside dishwashers, washers and water heaters, making them work harder.
A chlorine taste or smell
Tap water is disinfected on its way to you. A whole-home filter can take the taste and smell out.

Water facts
Hard water is minerals
Calcium and magnesium the water picks up on its way to you. They’re fine to drink, but they leave scale on fixtures and inside appliances.
It’s a blend
Orange County tap water mixes local groundwater with water brought in from the Colorado River and Northern California, so hardness changes from city to city.
It’s treated on the way
Utilities disinfect tap water with chlorine or chloramine to keep it safe. A whole-home carbon filter takes out the taste and smell.

Questions
Water questions.Straight answers.
Do I need a water softener in Orange County?
Most of Orange County has hard or very hard water, but it varies from city to city. Look up your city above. If you’re seeing crusty taps, spots and scale, talk to Taysom Plumbing about a softener sized to your water.
What’s the difference between a softener and a filter?
A softener takes out the hardness minerals that cause scale and spots. A whole-home filter takes out what you taste and smell, like chlorine, and sediment. Plenty of homes end up with both.
Will soft water feel different?
Yes, a little: soap lathers more easily and rinses off feeling smoother. That’s the hardness minerals being gone, not soap left behind.
How much will it cost?
We look at the problem first, explain what we found, and give you the options with a price for each. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed to it.
Which areas do you cover?
