Signs your drainneeds more than a plunger.

Water sitting in the sink or tub
Draining slower than it used to is usually buildup narrowing the pipe, well before it blocks completely.
Gurgling after it drains
Air being pulled through a partly blocked line, or a vent that isn’t doing its job.
A smell you can’t clean away
Food, grease or hair breaking down inside the pipe, or sewer gas getting in where it shouldn’t.
Water coming back up
The tub filling when the toilet flushes, or the washer draining into the shower, points further down the line.
More than one drain at once
Several slow drains together usually means the main line, not the fixtures themselves.
The clog that keeps coming back
If it’s back a few weeks after it was cleared, whatever caused it is still in the pipe.
Sound like yours?
Where’s the clog?Tap a drain in the house.
Just the kitchen sink
The clog is usually in the trap under the sink, or the short run of pipe between the sink and the main stack.
Usually caused by
- Cooking grease and oil
- Food scraps and coffee grounds
- Soap sticking to the grease
If the dishwasher backs up into the sink too, it’s further along the kitchen line.
Clearing a drainisn’t the same as fixing it.
We find out why it clogged, not just clear it and leave.

Questions
Drain questions.Straight answers.
Is it one drain or the main line?
One slow drain is usually that fixture’s own line. Several at once, or water coming up in the tub when you flush, usually means the main line. Not sure? Call Taysom Plumbing and tell us what you’re seeing.
Why does my drain keep clogging?
Usually because whatever caused it is still in the pipe: grease, hair, roots, or a section of pipe that sags. That’s why we find out why it clogged, not just clear it and leave.
Are store-bought drain cleaners safe to use?
They can shift a soft clog, but the harsh ones can be hard on older pipes and don’t remove what caused it. If you’ve already poured some in, tell us before we start.
How much will it cost?
We look at the problem first, explain what we found, and give you the options with a price for each. Nothing starts until you’ve agreed to it.
Which areas do you cover?
All of Orange County: 41 cities and communities, from La Habra down to San Clemente. If you don’t see yours on the list, call us and ask.
