Signs your pipesare past patching.

Rusty or brown water
Discolored water from the cold tap as well as the hot usually means the pipes themselves are corroding.
Pressure that keeps dropping
Scale and rust build up inside older pipe and narrow it, so less water gets through every year.
One leak after another
When a new leak turns up soon after the last one was fixed, the pipe is wearing out along its length.
An older home on its original pipes
Galvanized steel and polybutylene were common in older homes, and both are known for wearing out.
Banging or rattling pipes
Pipes that knock when a tap closes can be loose, corroded or failing at the joints.
A metallic taste or smell
Water that tastes of metal can be a sign that old pipe is breaking down on the inside.

Questions
Repipe questions.Straight answers.
How do I know if I need a repipe or just a repair?
A leak in newer pipe is usually worth repairing. When the pipe is old, the leaks keep coming, and the water turns rusty or loses pressure, patching stops making sense. Try the checker above, then call Taysom Plumbing and tell us what you’re seeing.
What’s the difference between a full and a partial repipe?
A full repipe replaces every water supply line in the house. A partial repipe replaces only the run that’s failing, such as one line or one area.
Will I be without water?
A repipe is planned around your household so you keep water where you need it. We’ll walk you through the plan before anything starts.
